Traffic Terrain Collision Avoidance System (TACOS)

ESEN TACOS System combines ‘Traffic Collision Avoidance System’ (TCAS II) and Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) in a modular open architecture.

TACOS, developed in accordance with the DO-185B and TSO-C119e standards, increases pilot awareness in detecting and tracking possible threats caused by the air traffic, generates automatic avoidance maneuvers, provides aural and visual warnings.

TACOS by using both the aircraft sensor data like position, altitude, speed, direction, flight phase, wing, landing gear configuration and the stored information in the system like updated terrain, obstacle and runway data, calculates the possibility of Controlled Flight Into Terrain/Obstacle and warns the pilots.
